A/N: Just a little story I came up with couple of years ago. I would love to get some comment on it.
Pieni tarina jonka keksin muutama vuosi sitten. Olisi ihana saada hieman kommentia!
Merope Gaunt looked in to the mirror. She couldn't remember when she had seen her hair so straight, so clean. Her skin was practically shining
But she wasn't smiling.
Merope was standing next to the wagon road, waiting anxiously. Her father and brother hadn't come home yet. She was finally alone. She tapped her foot nervously on the ground and watched a bird pecking ground couple of yards from her.
Then she heard the sound of wagons getting closer.
"Tom..." Merope whispered and turned. She was in their bedroom. It was bigger than the whole Gaunt house had been, filled with fancy ornaments. Tom was laying on the bed, reading newspaper. Merope flinched when she saw the empty glare in Tom's eyes.
"G-good day, mr. Riddle", Merope said blushing wildly.
To Meropes glee the beautiful white horse pulling the wagons slowed it's pace. Tom Riddle was on his daily wagon ride. This time alone.
"And who might you be?" Tom asked, eyeing Merope and wiping sweat from his handsome forehead with a napkin.
"I live in that house", Merope said and blushed even more. She pointed to the Gaunt shack with her skinny arm.
"My condolences..." Tom said and let out a mean laugh.
Merope breathed deeply. This was the moment, she had to do it now.
"Would you like something to drink?"
"Tom", Merope said this time little louder. Tom turned his empty gaze from newspaper to Merope and smiled lovingly.
"Yes, darling, is everything alright, darling?" he asked, ever-smiling.
Merope burst into tears. In a blink of an eye Tom had got up. He was tall and handsome, so incredibly handsome, wearing a simple white cotton shirt. Merope pressed her head against his chest, still weeping.
"Would you love me...", she cried.
"What do you mean, my love?"
Tom eyed the bottle Merope was handing to her with a doubtful look. Bottle was pretty dirty even though Merope had spent a hour of polishing it. On the other hand the day was hot and he was really thirsty.
"Well... Alright..." Tom said and took the bottle. He gave a quick look to the liquid inside it. Juice probably, he though and pressed the bottle against his lips.
Meropes eyes widened.
"What's the time?" Merope asked.
"It's going to be 12 o´clock soon", Tom said without a moment's notice, hurting Merope even further. That man always did what she asked.
He always did what she asked... But why?
"Effect will wear of soon", Merope said and straightened herself. She had to stay strong, she couldn't cry now.
"Effect, darling?" Tom smiled. "What do you mean?"
Merope closed her eyes and breathed deeply. "Effect of the Love Potion"
Tom blinked couple of times. He looked at his surrounding and the bottle he was holding. Then he turned his eyes to Merope. He was no longer sneering.
"I love you, girl from the shack!" Tom yelled and jumped down from his wagons.
Merope almost fainted. She was red as the descending sun. "I love you too!" she said throwing herself on to Tom.
Merope was staring Tom as the clock hit twelve. She was shaking when the man started to blink rapidly. Just like that one day so long ago. Tom eyed Merope.
"What the hell has happened?" he asked with a tone that Merope had never heard before.
"I... I love yo-", Merope stumbled on her words and tears filled her eyes.
"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME, YOU WITCH!?" Tom roared and his handsome face was filled with rage.
Merope moaned loudly and fell to her knees. Then she told Tom everything about the Love Potion. Shocked Tom was listening, breathing heavily. After Merope had finished her story she looked up with tear-filled eyes.
"You fucking witch..." was all Tom managed to mutter out.
Merope yelped, stumbled up and walked towards Tom with crying wildly. Back of the Toms hand hit violently against her face, throwing her against the bed. Tom opened his mouth but couldn't find anything to say. Then he turned, kicked the bedroom door open and walked through the living room towards the exit.
Merope was crawling after him, crying like a baby. Her chin was bleeding but she didn't even notice it. "Tom wait! I beg of you please don't go! Don't go!
Tom opened the outside door and turned to look at Merope. Pathetic, he thought.
"What do you want me to say?" he asked through his puckered lips.
"Say that you love me", Merope cried.
Tom eyes Merope for a moment still. Then he turned and stepped out. Merope screamed, got up and ran to the door. Tom was almost running, hatred giving him speed.
"Don't go!" Merope yelled. "I'm pregnant!"
Tom halted. Then he turned to watch Merope, woman who he had loved in a lie for many years. He opened his mouth.
"Keep it away from me"
Then Tom Valedro walked away from crying Merope and he never saw her again.
"'Keep it away from me', you said?" man asked with a voice colder than ice.
"Stay away from me!" old man screamed and backed off against the wall. "How do you know that!?"
"I know everything, Tom, you old fool", man said, raising a wooden wand towards him. "Lord Voldemort knows everything"
Sudden flash of green light lighted up the room only for it to be replaced by eternal darkness.
